Ishvara Pranidhana: Final thoughts

Updated: Jun 10, 2021

Surrendering doesn’t make us weak. We don’t need to dominate others to survive or even thrive. That’s just our ego talking. If we can set our ego aside and release some control, we can find contentment.

Remember the Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change…

Courage to change the things I can,

And wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,

Enjoying one moment at a time,

Accepting hardship as the pathways to peace;

To surrender to what is, we have to trust our deepest Self. Each time we are able to choose to surrender, each time we allow our deepest Self to guide us, we move a little closer to freedom and joy.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey through the Yamas and Niyamas. There is so much there to study and to contemplate. I hope you will choose to revisit them often as I do.

After a brief hiatus and some much-needed R&R, I’ll be back with a new topic! See you soon.
