Tapas, Final thoughts

Updated: Apr 20, 2021

We’ve talked about what Tapas on the mat looks like, and what Tapas off the mat can look like. In this last post on Tapas, it’s time to wrap it up and sum it up.

Tapas is one of the ethics of self-care. It is about having the self-discipline to do what we know is good for us, even when we don’t feel like it.

Tapas is doing all of the things that we do with our full energy and focus.

Get regular exercise, get enough rest, eat a healthy diet and drink enough water. All the things that we know we should do!

Many of us (especially me) want to choose the cupcake over the apple, and doing that once in a while is okay. If we consistently choose the apple, though, we are investing in our health and in our selves.

Tapas is making healthy choices and changes in your life so you can live a joyful life. Never give up on that, it is worth it!

Have a great week! Next time, I will introduce the fourth Niyama, Svadhyaya, self-study.
